About Us
How It Began
Tommy D’s Windows, Doors & More, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Tommy and Jeannie Deckard in Bloomington, Indiana. The couple hired Michael Corns, whom Tom had worked with previously, to help start the business as their first salesperson.
What started as a small two-person operation, quickly grew as the community turned to Tommy D’s for their home improvement projects. That being said, the business quickly outgrew its original space, Tom and Jeannie’s barn. In 1996, Tommy D’s moved to its current location on State Road 446, where it continues to serve homeowners, builders, and contractors throughout Bloomington and South-Central Indiana.
Ownership Changed In 2020
Mike Corns played a key role in the growth of Tommy D’s from the very beginning. He worked alongside Tom for many years and gradually took on greater leadership responsibilities until Tom fully retired in the early 2010’s, prior to his passing in 2015.
After serving as a partial owner and leading day-to-day operations of the company for more than a decade, Mike assumed full ownership of Tommy D’s in 2020. He kept the original business name as well as the legacy of Tommy and Jeannie – treating employees like family and being dedicated to exemplary service to the community.
A True Family Owned and Operated Business
Family remains at the heart of Tommy D’s, as it has from the beginning. Mike’s children, Mitchell and Maya, began working in the business while still in high school and now help lead the company full-time since they graduated from Indiana University in 2024 and 2026.
What began with just a couple employees has grown into a dedicated team of more than 20 full-time professionals. While Tommy D’s has expanded over the years, it has remained committed to the personalized service, craftsmanship, and community values that have defined the company since day one.
